Turning Negativity Into A Helping Hand

My cultural problem is drug addiction and overdoses and to bring awareness to my cultural problem I am making a video for Sacred Heart. I care about this issue because I have had two people in my family overdose, one of which resulted in death. So it really affects me personally and I want changes to be made before others have to feel the pain that comes with being close to someone who is struggling with addiction.

The purpose of my campaign is to help Sacred Heart bring awareness to the effects that drug addiction has on the loved ones of the addict, and to let the addicts know how the loved ones feel and that they should and can get help. The main belief that I want to change is the addicts think they have no resources to get help, and I can change that belief by bringing awareness to Sacred Heart's rehabilitation program, because they are “dedicated to assisting all people with behavioral health issues, including those with limited means, to improve their quality of life.” This is a really long sentence. Break up your ideas here. I want to change the negative attitude towards drug addiction, and make people say, “I should really help this person, they don't understand what they're doing." What do you mean here? I hope to reach out to current addicts, because maybe by watching it they will understand how much they are hurting those around them because they assume that they are alone, and that nobody cares about them; I know this because I watched someone very close to me struggle with addiction, and almost watch them take their last breath because they believed that nobody was going to be bothered by their death and addiction. I also would like to reach those who have someone close to them that is struggle with addiction because it is important that they understand that addiction is not the addicts choice. I know these people are my key audience because those are the people who think there is no help out there or that they will be judged for leading someone to help/asking for help. I want New sentence here. to bring them to an understanding that it is okay to reach out and lead the addict in the right direction.

Sacred Heart is very prominent in helping addicts recover and they have many programs, whether it is inpatient or outpatient. Sacred Heart also has events within the communities in Michigan that are affected by drug addiction to help bring awareness and to change the negative stigma that is around drug addiction. This is what Sacred heart says about addiction being a disease rather than a choice “At Sacred Heart we believe that addiction to drugs and/or alcohol is a progressive disease that affects not only the addicted individual but those with whom he or she interacts, particularly friends and family. We believe addictions to be treatable through a comprehensive course of professional therapy, education and support individually tailored to the needs of each client served and his or her family As transitions, I think you should restate the questions to lead into each section of your RIA. .”

The media that I want to use for my campaign is a video that will be posted Facebook because Sacred Heart has a Facebook and I truly hope that I am able to reach them. Explicitly state that you will use a video. My video will get to the intended audience because I will share the link with them and have others share the link as well and hopefully at least a few people will see the video and it will make a difference. What does this mean? I believe this strategy is effective Effective because a lot of times things go viral or end up reaching a company through simply posting them on social media Explain what you mean here. because a lot of people who feel that they can relate to something in one way or another, or that people could benefit from something, will turn around and share that video.

My campaign is very important to me because I have watched two family members struggle with addiction that ended in an overdose, one of which resulted in death and I want people to go to Sacred Heart and participate in their rehab program. I think that my audience should care because this is an epidemic there are people everywhere around in our community that are addicted to drugs and making a difference starts with those who are not addicted!
